Our Process

What does the process look like from start to finish?

Every project begins with a free strategy call where we learn about your business, goals, and audience. From there, we scope your project, present a clear plan with timelines, and get to work. You will receive regular updates and have opportunities to review and provide feedback at every milestone before launch.

How long does a typical project take?

Timelines depend on scope. A standard website (3-5 pages) typically takes 2-4 weeks. E-commerce stores and mobile apps generally take 4-8 weeks. SEO and growth strategy is ongoing. We will give you a specific timeline during your strategy call based on your project.

What do you need from me to get started?

To kick off your project, we typically need your brand assets (logo, colors, fonts if you have them), content for your pages (or we can help guide you), access to any existing hosting or domain accounts, and a clear picture of your goals. We walk you through everything during the strategy call.

Do you work with businesses outside of Maine?

Yes. While we are based in Belfast, Maine and specialize in serving Maine businesses, we work with clients anywhere in the United States. All of our collaboration happens remotely via video calls, email, and our project management tools.

Pricing & Payments

How does pricing work?

We offer transparent, project-based pricing. Every package includes a strategy session to properly scope your project before any work begins. You will receive a clear quote with no hidden fees. We also offer bundle discounts when combining services like web design with mobile app development.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. For projects over $1,500, we offer a split payment structure — typically 50% upfront to begin work and 50% upon completion. For larger projects, we can discuss a milestone-based payment schedule during your strategy call.

What is included in the first year of hosting?

Every website package includes the first year of hosting at no additional cost. This covers reliable hosting, SSL certificate, DNS management, and basic uptime monitoring. After year one, our Care Plan starts at $100/month and includes ongoing hosting, security updates, backups, and up to 2 hours of minor edits per month.

What technologies do you use?

We build with modern, performance-focused technologies. Our websites use frameworks like Astro for fast static sites, and we build e-commerce stores on Shopify or custom platforms depending on your needs. Mobile apps are built with cross-platform technology so you get both iOS and Android from a single codebase. Every project is optimized for speed, SEO, and accessibility.

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

Absolutely. Every website we build is designed mobile-first and tested across devices and screen sizes. With over 60% of web traffic coming from mobile devices, responsive design is not optional — it is a core part of every project we deliver.

Do you provide ongoing support after launch?

Yes. We offer Care Plans for both websites and mobile apps that cover hosting, security updates, backups, performance monitoring, and minor edits. We do not build and disappear — we are here for the long term. Your first year of hosting is included with every website package.

Can you help improve my existing website instead of building a new one?

Yes. If your current site has a solid foundation, we can audit it and recommend targeted improvements — whether that is SEO optimization, performance tuning, design updates, or adding new functionality. We will be honest about whether a refresh or a rebuild makes more sense for your goals and budget.

Legal & Professional Standards

Who owns the intellectual property for my project?

You do. Upon final payment, all custom work product — including designs, code, content, and brand assets created specifically for your project — is fully transferred to you. We retain no ownership rights to your project deliverables. This is standard practice and will be outlined clearly in your project agreement before work begins.

Do you use a contract or project agreement?

Yes. Every project begins with a clear written agreement that outlines the scope of work, timeline, payment terms, deliverables, revision policy, and intellectual property transfer. This protects both parties and ensures we are aligned on expectations from day one. We believe transparency is the foundation of a good working relationship.

How do you handle confidential business information?

Any proprietary business information, trade secrets, customer data, or strategic plans shared with us during the course of a project are treated as strictly confidential. We do not share, sell, or disclose client information to third parties. If your project requires additional confidentiality protections, we are happy to execute a mutual NDA before work begins.

What is your revision and change policy?

Every project includes a defined number of revision rounds at each milestone, which will be specified in your project agreement. Minor adjustments and feedback are a natural part of the process and are always welcome. Significant scope changes beyond the original agreement will be discussed transparently, quoted separately, and only proceed with your approval.

What happens if I need to cancel a project?

If you need to cancel, we understand. Work completed up to the point of cancellation is billed based on the project milestones reached. Any unused portion of your deposit may be partially refundable depending on the stage of the project. The specific cancellation terms will be clearly outlined in your project agreement.
